That it's not as pretty, pristine and calm as it seems.

Watching the sun rise. Doesn't matter where.
It's a brand new day to do things a brand new way or make a decision that may change your life forever.

The youngest person I've met is someone who is actually pushing 80 and still runs after buses. This person is always with a good hearty laugh, a twinkle in their eye and a spring in their step. This person is very active in their community and has a lot of friends. This person even likes using the computer and IMing friends! Very 21st century! And an inspiration to me.

I try to get as much information as I can, coupled with what I already know and have experienced, and then ask myself what I can and can't live with.
I would also ask a trusted friend or mentor advice to get a different view on things or pick up on things I couldn't see because I was too close to the situation to think things through or may've overlooked.
Then I make my decision and trust that it's right for me.
Then there are times when I don't go through all that and just flip a coin.

For those who are grieving, I merely sit and listen. I don't talk. If they allow me to say anything, I quietly say, "I'm so sorry, honey." And mean it with every fiber of my being.
I focus my attention on them and just stay quiet, offer a comforting hug if they are receptive to it or ask for it. I play it by ear and watch for what they want. People tend to come and unload whatever conversations they have going on in their heart without much prompting from me. I don't judge, I don't react. I merely stay still and listen.
You'd be surprised how much people just want to let things out without being pushed or being told that others have been there or have had it worse.
